[Veil]

Beneath the moon’s luminous veil,
in solitude and hush,
I ascend my staircase anew,
While afar,
waves,
bathed in a gentle blue starlight,
Crash upon a shore of coral.

Under the moon’s silvered gleam,
the garden lies quiet.
Alone,
I stand within my chamber.
Across my wall,
cast by the distant lunar orb,
A light of flame is cast.

There are homes suspended beyond
the celestial spheres,
And stars adrift beneath
the ocean’s depths;
And a breeze from
the expansive azure expanse of time
Caresses my drapes near my bed.

Once again,
I linger in the shadows,
Suspended amidst realms unknown;
Before the looking glass,
I raise my hands
And confront my familiar face :
unfamiliar,
I beg it to stop paling
God help me endure.
